ADVANCE Transcarpathian Advocacy and Development Centre in cooperation with the Peace Corps of USA implements the program titled. The project is funded by the US Embassy. The project facilitates the development of Roma communities, supports to enhance the educational level of Roma youth and this way their social and cultural development.

During the program implementation young Roma people take  part various seminars and trainings in the issues of team-building and project management. Beside the foundation organizes different events for strengthening tolerance and acceptance. Simultaneously, during the program period the organisation monitors the issue of human rights, and implements law defense and advocacy activities.

The program’s main activities:

• Back to school seminar
• Stay in school initiation
• Mini-grant opportunity for participating schools
• Establishment of Roma rights in Ukraine association
• Providing free of charge legal advice for the target groups in the CAB operating on the basis of ADVANCE

Back to school seminar:

• participants are pupils of Mezovari, Makkosjanosi, Beregujfalu and Beregovo schools, total number of 60 persons
• the venue of the seminar is village Papi, in the headquarter of the charitable organisation Opportunity for life
• the seminar will be implemented two  times:
  • the first is from 27th September till 3rd October
  • the second is from 11th October till 17th October

On  17th April, 2010. the 2nd Annual Beregszasz Wine Country Half-marathon is to be organized, part of the official programme of the 10th Beregszasz International Wine Festival. This way we would like to invite those who are interested and who like to run, walk and active rest to take part our program!

Friday, April 16.

9:00-11:00 Registration at the office of Advance Transcarpathian Advocacy and Development Centre. (Beregszász, B. Hmelnickij str. 29/1)
13:00-15:00 Sightseeing in Beregszász (Presumably everybody knows already the town, nevertheless we are waiting for You as it an outstanding opportunity to spend a funny afternoon with a group of young American people).  Meeting is before the Beregszasz Hungarian National Theatre named after Illyés Gyula, near the traffic lights.
19:00-21:00 Dinner (Pasta Dinner)

Saturday, April 17.

10:45-12:00 Opening ceremony of the 10th Beregszasz International Wine Festival in the town centre.
12:45-13:00 Opening ceremony of the 2nd Annual Beregszasz Wine Country Half-marathon (Serkert Restaurant, Mihók Péter str. 13)

New IDEA centre was opened in Beregovo, Transcarpathia, on the basis of ADVANCE Transcarpathian Advocacy and Development Centre. The Centre received the educational material of Microsoft Unlimited Potential programme and the appropriate software for the teaching.
The first course will be started on the 25th January, 2010 but there are applicants already for three groups.

This report is based on a recent conference titled “Involvement of Ukrainian NGOs in the Process of ENP Monitoring”.  The conference aimed to provide the opportunity for Ukraine NGO’s to participate more actively in the European Union Neighborhood Policy activities.  The Ukrainian NGO’s included member organizations of “ACCORD” Association of Civil Organizations for Development in Western Ukraine and their partner organizations.
